Vinyl Tops
A popular option on vehicles produced in the 60’s and 70’s, Vinyl Tops give the appearance of a convertible, without the added cost / maintenance required.
Common Styles:
Full: The most common style, covering the entire roof and both C-pillars.
Landau: This style is usually padded and covers the rear section of the roof, including the C-pillars.
Halo: Similar to the full style, except with an area of paint left exposed in order to create a "halo" effect.
Canopy: This style leaves the C-pillars exposed and only covers the front half of the roof.
Simulated Convertible / Carriage Tops
Simulated Convertible Tops, or Carriage Tops, get their roots from horse-drawn carriages. Many of the old manufacturers building carriages gravitated towards building cars, bringing with them the style and design their customers liked. These days, this elegant look can be seen on limousines and high-end luxury automobiles.
